Cardiac Echo

Echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart, echocardiography, UKG, ultrasound cardiography) is a test by which we judge the size of cardiac structures and the regularity of its construction, and whether blood flow to the heart is normal. The examination determines the correct functioning of the muscle that the heart is built of - so at the time of its contraction and diastole. We evaluate the amount of fluid in the pericardium - the structure that protects the heart -which allows us to discover the systemic inflammation changes, as well as OB. The study also gives the opportunity to assess the severity of atherosclerosis in patients' vessels.

The study does not require any special preparation from the patient, it takes from 5 minutes to half an hour. It is a non-invasive, safe and painless, there are no contraindications to exercise it.

Echocardiography is performed in the primary diagnosis of heart diseases, of the effects of other heart disease, and in the assessment of the cardiovascular function and exercise capacity. Echocardiography is also assessing the health of the patient before planned surgical procedures.
